  • ICE (I) provides membership through examination for Technician Member ICE(I) and Associate Member ICE(I) to associate with ICE(I) as non-corporate members. Following is the eligibility criteria to appear in the examination and certification requirement.

      • Eligibility

        In order to be eligible to seek membership to any class, every candidate should possess the following qualification and experience.

        General
        The two Examinations are open to the candidates working for a minimum period of one year in an organization engaged in promoting Civil Engineering profession.

      • Section A

        1. He / She have attained the age of 18 years on the date of his / her application.
        2. Passed all components of Technician Membership Examination of the ICE (I).
        or
        3. Should have a Diploma in Civil Engineering.

      • Section B

        1. Passed Section A Examination as above.
        or
        2. Degree holder in engineering other than Civil Engineering.
        or
        3. Passed Section A of AMIE (India) after Diploma in Civil/ Engineering.

      • 1. Section A Examination will consist of 6 subjects. The candidate can appear in a maximum of 4 subjects in one attempt.
        2. Section B Examination will consist of 10 subjects out of which 5 subjects will be compulsory and 5 subjects will be specialized subjects. The candidate can select any 5 subjects from the groups I - V related to his own field. The candidate can appear in a maximum of 4 subjects in one attempt.
        3. On successful completion of 10 subjects of the Section B examination, the candidate will work on a project related to the field of Civil Engineering. The project duration will be one semester i.e. approximately 6 months.
        4. The candidate has passed Section A and Section B examination of the Institution and has an experience of 3 years working in an organization engaged in promoting Civil Engineering profession.
        5. The candidate has acquired practical experience of 3 years in a manner satisfactory to the Institution, in promotion, planning, design, construction, maintenance or management of such works as are comprised within the profession of a Civil Engineering or teaching of engineering in a course leading to the qualification approved by the institution.

      • The Practical Training for Associate Membership will be carried out in AICTE approved Engineering College and the practical assessment will be conducted by the concerned Engineering Colleges wherever the candidate has undergone Practical Training. The Project Report for Associate Membership is to be submitted through the Principal or Head of the Department of Civil Engineering of AICTE approved Engineering College. On meeting the requirements as above, a candidate becomes eligible for the Associate Membership Grade of the ICE (I) and will be entitled to write AMICE (I) with his/her name.

      • Eligibility

      • Technician Membership Examination (Part I & Part II)

      • Part 1

        1. Must have passed Secondary (10th Pass) with Math & Science or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board.
        2. He has attained the age of 16 years on the date of his application.

      • Part 2

        1. Part I Examination will consist of 6 subjects. The candidate can appear in a maximum of 4 subjects in one attempt.
        2. Part II Examination will consist of 9 subjects in respect of Civil Engineering. The candidate can appear in a maximum of 4 subjects in one attempt.
        3. On successful completion of all subjects of the Part II examination, the candidate will work on a project related to the field of Civil Engineering. The project duration will be one semester i.e. approximately 6 months.
        4. The candidate has passed Part I and Part II examination of the institution and has an experience of three years working in an organization engaged in promoting Civil Engineering profession.
        5. The candidate shall have had such Practical Experience including experience in a position of responsibility in Professional Engineering or part thereof, as may be required.

      • The Practical Training for Technician Membership will be carried out in AICTE approved Polytechnic/Engineering College and the practical assessment will be conducted by the concerned Polytechnic/Engineering Colleges wherever the candidate has undergone Practical Training. The Project report for Technician Membership is to be submitted through the Principal or Head of the Department of Civil Engineering of AICTE approved Polytechnic/Engineering College. On meeting the requirements as above, a candidate becomes eligible for the Technician Membership Grade of the ICE (I) and is entitled to write T.Engg. (Civil) after his/her name.
